Courtney is ready to change the way we define success in USD 383. Not every student is headed for a four-year college, and that should not be considered a failure, but rather an opportunity.

Courtney wants students to know that success comes in many forms, and they should be supported no matter which path they choose.

She believes in a district where college-bound, career-ready, and still-exploring all get the same encouragement, resources, and recognition.

Redefining Student Success

What Success Really Looks Like

✅ Four-year college
✅ Community college
✅ Technical/vocational school
✅ Internships and apprenticeships
✅ Entering the workforce with skills and support
✅ Choosing a path they’re proud of

“Success should be accessible, visible, and celebrated at every level of achievement.”

Courtney’s Vision for Student Success

✏️ Supporting the growth of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at Manhattan High School.

🔧 Boosting student exposure to career paths early through programs like Classroom-to-Careers (which starts in 4th grade!).

🧭 Making sure all students understand their post-graduation options—not just college, but trade schools, service opportunities, and direct-to-work programs.

🤝 Partnering with local employers and organizations to provide internships, mentorship, and hands-on learning.

🥗 Advocating for expanded access to free school meals, because students can’t succeed if they’re hungry.

Redefining success helps:
Reduce dropout rates
Build real-world skills
Prepare students for life—not just tests
Connect students to their community
Celebrate every accomplishment, not just the traditional ones

Courtney’s ready to help every student feel seen, supported, and set up to thrive.
